Wendy Barbeau | Wendy has twenty years of experience in the field of education, as both a teacher and a trainer. Bartlett, Derek | Derek is the founder of Cape and Islands Paranormal Research Society (CAIPRS) and Cape Cod’s Haunted & History Walking Tours. Bruster, Hal | Hal Bruster has been an ad agency Creative Director, Copywriter and Art Director for more than 30 years. Throughout his career at large West Coast ad agencies, Hal has won numerous Industry awards including a Clio, a New York Film Festival Award, ADDY’s and Best In The West. He is a musician, photographer and has been a lecturer at U.C. Berkeley on Advertising and Marketing. Champlin, Connie | Connie is an author, an educator, a librarian and a world traveler! It is her love of travel and exploration that she wishes to share with you. Her travels have taken Connie to theaters in London, museums in Italy, rivers in Thailand, beaches in the Galapagos and markets in Morocco.

 

Chapman, Christine | Christine Chapman is the director of Chapman Educational Services. She began her work as an educational consultant in 1995. Since then Mrs. Chapman has worked with over fifteen hundred families in the educational process, and has developed strong relationships with admissions counselors and other educational consultants at more than two hundred fifty schools and colleges.
Mrs. Chapman has served as Senior Chair of the Schools Committee for the Independent Educational Consultants Association, board member for The Cape Cod Montessori School, vice-president and secretary of The Sandwich Montessori Enrichment and Assistance Fund, and as a member of the IECA Credentialing task force for schools consulting. She has presented experienced perspectives on diversity and the challenges of international student life in school communities at conference workshops sponsored by the following organizations:

Mrs. Chapman's international perspective has strong roots in her own life. Born and raised in Montreal, she has resided in Seoul, South Korea, Vancouver, Canada, Boston, MA and Plymouth, MA.
Mrs. Chapman is an alumna of the Sacred Heart School of Montreal and Skidmore College, and is in pursuit of her master's degree at Harvard University. She is the author of The International Student's Guide to Applying to Private Schools for Admissionsquest.com, writes a college admissions-based blog entitled "College Chat with Christine Chapman" for the online publications www.capecodtoday.com and www.plymouthdailynews.com, and is a regular freelance writer and contributor for www.capecodkidz.com. Mrs. Chapman resides in South Plymouth with her husband and her two children. Crowley, Sheila |Sheila Crowley returned to college after a successful career in retail management earning a BA in Graphic Design for Bridgewater State College. Since graduating in 2001 she has been working for a Promotional Products company where she is the ecommerce manager. Sheila also designs and manages the email marketing for the company using Constant Contact. Additionally, she serves on the technology committee for The SheArt Network, a Cape Cod non-profit to empower women through art, where she again utilizes Constant Contact for the group. She is a holistic health educator who has been practicing Hatha yoga for over 25 years. She is certified in Kripalu yoga and assists with yoga teacher certification at the Kripalu Center for Health. Laporte, Roger / Roger has taught Construction Supervisor for many years at the Sandwich Community School. He is the Building Inspector for the town of Bourne.

 

Lamb, Kathleen  /Kathy has a degree in Design and Decorating and is co-owner of House Restorations, a design, construction, remodeling and decorating businesses. She has many years of experience working on commercial buildings as well as residential homes. Her passion for decorating has expanded to also include the study of Feng Shui, an ancient Chinese science, which promotes all positive energies in and around your home. Kathy has enjoyed sharing her knowledge with others, here at S.C.S. since 1996.

Levesque, Pricsilla | Priscilla has been a resident of Cataumet for the past 38 years and paints landscapes on the Upper Cape and Provincetown. After years of working in transparent watercolor, she began using casein as well. Casein is an opaque, quick-drying aqueous medium wnich ontains a milk-based binding agent. In most of Priscilla’s paintings, she blocks in large areas with watercolor, then works over them with casein to strengthen color and develop texture. She received a BFA from UMass at Amherst and has studied with artists including Claude Croney, Paul George, Margaret Shields, Robert Roark and Selina Trieff. Priscilla has won several awards, including Best in Show at the 2007 Falmouth Artists Guild Summer Juried Show. In the same location, she won Best Landscape in 2008, Juror’s Choice in 2009, and Best Watermedia in 2010. Her work can be seen at the South Street Gallery in Hingham, the Cataumet Arts Center, Gallery 333 in N. Falmouth, the Cape Gallery Framer in Falmouth, and Impulse Art Gallery in Provincetown Her teaching experience includes the Cataumet Arts Center, the Cultural Center of Cape Cod, Falmouth Community School, the Cotuit Center for the Arts, and the Feather-stone Center for the Arts in Oak Bluffs.

Loring, Jacqueline | Jacqueline is a poet, playwright, and screenwriter. She compiled, edited and self-published two anthologies: “Summer Home Review, Volumes I and II.” She has edited the work of poets and writers. She has received professional grants from the Mass Cultural Council, the Arts Foundation of Cape Cod, the Bourne Cultural Council, and a Ragdale Foundation Artist Residency.

Mackeil, Lou

Mckee, Victoria  /Victoria McKee is a writer, journalist, lecturer and teacher who works in both the U.S. and the UK.  In her lengthy journalistic career she has written major articles for The [London]Times, Sunday Times, New York Times, Boston Globe, and many other top newspapers, color supplements and glossy magazines. She has had several books published, been an adjunct professor in the Department of Language and Literature at Cape Cod Community College, and has taught a variety of courses at Sandwich Community School since 2003 on different types of writing, literature, drama and in both Italian and French. She is founder/director of ACTS (The Actors' Circle for Training in Shakespeare)and Youth ACTS (for 11-16s), both of which she has run at Sandwich Community School as well as at other venues in the U.S. and U.K.  She currently divides her time between England and Cape Cod but hopes to live her full time eventually.

Moore, Geri | Geri Is a Counselor and Communications Consultant. She offers a series of fun, skill-filled seminars on outgrowing self-defeating behaviors. She is a member of American Society for Training and Development (ASTD).

Moselsky, Donna |Donna is a fitness instructor for the past 11 years. She is certified in Spinning (cycle) and a Yoga instructor for everybody. Donna began belly dancing once a week as a student and loved it! Now she is shimmying into the sunset and you can too!

Murphy, Amanda| Amanda is an RN certified in Holistic Nursing, Holistic Stress Management, Clinical Aromatherapy, Bodywork, and Empowerment Training. She has over 35 years experience in multiple health care arenas and is able to bridge the gap between conventional and holistic health care. Amanda has presented holistic workshops at professional conferences, retreat centers, community colleges, private residences, and in the corporate setting. Murphy, Maryann | Maryann Murphy is a Professional Organizer and Time Management Consultant with over 25 years of experience helping people learn new skills.  O'Connor, James /Jim began his martial arts training under Walter Mattson in the art of Uechi Ryu Karate, where he acheived his black belt. In 1981, he began his Tai Chi studies under Grandmaster Gin-Soon Chu, and has diligently continued the study of Tai Chi Chaun. Subsequently, Mr. O'Connor established the Cape Cod Tai Chi Club and has taught traditional Yang Style Tai Chi Chuan throughout the Cape and Islands. His teaching combines patience and respect for each of his students with a strict attention to detail, reverence for the Yang Style Tai Chi tradition, and passion for what he is doing. In addition to his work at the Cape Cod Tai Chi Club, Mr. O'Connor also teaches at a variety of local organizations and community schools. He has studied a number of the Chinese healing arts and is certified in Tui-Na therapy. He is a member of the Oriental Culture Institute of Boston.

RODERICK, Mikelyn /Mikelyn is an amazing talent that delivers a breathtaking addition to the world of music. A sound that recalls an era when authentic songwriting and beautiful melodies were the name of the game. The Cape Verdean (West African, Portuguese) songbird has a style that is unique and a tone that has been defined as soothing, effortless and angelic. There is an honesty and sincerity that resonates from her ( manager, put your thing on it) smile Her greatest influence is the supreme diva herself, Miss Ross, along with Aretha Franklin, EWF, Dionne Warwick, Burt Bacharach, James Taylor, Astrid Gilberto, and Sergio Mendes. She is not a newcomer to the music scene she recorded a version of the Stylistics r&b hit ballad “SIDESHOW released on Beacon St. Records when she was nineteen. She has recorded and/or performed with many musical (giants, geniuses, greats) including Bill Withers, Barry White, Earth, Wind & Fire, Stevie Wonder, Rahsaan Patterson, Maxwell, Tevin Campbell, Ray J, Crystal Waters, David Foster, Carol Bayer Sager, Kirk Franklin and Quincy Jones Mikelyn was a member of the r&b vocal group BY ALL MEANS, it was with them that she shared a double role as co writer and only female voice of the group. (Should I say triple role and put survived marriage to Jimmy Varner) The group shared great success in the U.S. Europe and Japan, she along with the other two members recorded a remake of the Marvin Gaye hit “Let’s Get It On which help prompt the campaign to give Marvin his long overdue star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. She has also shared her talents as a songwriter on various projects such as Rahsaan Patterson’s debut album on MCA and his current After Hours. Along with Rahsaan and producer Jamie Jaz she co-wrote the hit single and titled cd “BACK TO THE WORLD” . She has also lended her voice on various soundtracks most notably, TWO CAN PLAY THAT GAME, AND SPACE JAM. Mikelyn has also enjoyed success as the singing voice for LEVI’S JEANS, UNCLE BEN’S RICE, BURGER KING, NISSAN and NIKE. She started performing at 16 years old and was destined to share her gift with the world She just finished a successful run of the hit musical ‘CROWNS’ in Boston and most recently performed at the Café De Paris in London as the opening act for the amazing Frank McComb. She performed songs from producer James Day’s newly released cd “Better Days” as well as songs from her debut solo project entitled ‘COPASTETIC IS’. Mikelyn sings songs that reflect a message that speaks about life, love, joy and the journey that is called music.

Sawyer, Alan| Dr. Sawyer has conducted research on insect pest populations at Cornell University and for the U.S. Department of Agriculture for 32 years, and for the last 16 years has focused on invasive species.  He has also taught university courses on integrated pest management and has delivered many public lectures for both scientific and popular audiences.

Seaman, Jane| Jane Seaman has been an avid crafter her whole life, with her friends calling her the “Martha” of all crafts. You name it she’s crafted it, but Knitting and Crocheting seem to be her everlasting passions. She stays current with fashion and color trends which enhance her crafts. Jane is nationally certified in Knitting, Crocheting and Jewelry making. Over the years, her students at the Sandwich Community School have thoroughly enjoy their classes with her, which is why they return each season. They say it’s because of her patience, ease of direction and encouragement all within a fun and relaxed atmosphere. Jane teaches regularly at Sandwich Community School, other venues on the cape and works part time at Sage Yarn in Falmouth.

Sheldon, Linda|MA Psychology, Masters, Public Administration, Reike Master, Certified Akashic Healer, Pranic Healer, Certified Hypnotherapist, ITKYA Certified Kundalini Yoga Teacher, Certified YogaFit Instructor. Linda has been teaching classes in Yoga, Meditation, Alternative Healing, Acupressure, Subtle Energy Healing, Dowsing, and Flower Essences and has maintained an active healing practice for over 15 years. Silbret, Roberta|Roberta Silbret has been painting and teaching art all over the world for over 30 years! She is a scholarship graduate of New York University where she led a Bohemian Life, painting expressively with other Greenwich Village artists of the 50’s & 60’s and taking advantage of the teaching of Louise Nevelson, Larry Rivers, and Robert Rauschenberg, all instructors, artists in residence and “Village People”.

In the early 60’s Roberta and her husband Marc moved to Paris where she was a student at the Sorbonne, the Ecole de Beaux Arts, and the Grand Chaumiere. It was Paris she will always remember – for here she exhibited at the famous “Salon des Independents” at the Grand Palais by invitation og General Charles DeGaulle.

Roberta returned to the US , has lived in Miami, Arizona, Connecticut, and California. She was given the keys to the City of Miami Beach for bringing “Joy through Art” to their seniors, had a mural company in Arizona where she painted hospitals and condos in Sun City, wrote and art column in for as newspaper in Scottsdale, and was one of the Art Commissioners for Stanislaus Country, California. Currently she is an art therapist, working on Cape Cod. She has 39 One-Woman shows to date.

Roberta was the President of the Yarmouth Art Guild, has taught for many years at the Cape Cod Art Association, has one woman and group shows of her students’ work and is currently running classes for the Sandwich Community School. She says her classes are wild and wooly and not for wimps!

Simmons, Robert N.|   Bob Simmons is a Massachusetts licensed private
detective operating under the name of Simmons Agency, Inc. He has decades of
experience in the field, conducting surveillance, in-depth background
investigations, court research and more.  He has lectured at the Boston
Center for Adult Education, Investigators On-Line Network, American Society
for Industrial Security and the National Association of Legal Investigators.

Sullivan, Elisa | Elisa Sullivan has been designing jewelry for over 15 years. She is a member of the Artisan Guild of Cape Cod and has held trunk shows all over the country. Currently her work is featured in several Cape Cod, New York, Florida and New Jersey stores as well as the nationally recognized website www.givingtreejewelry.com. Recently Elisa’s designs were featured on Real Housewives of New Jersey. Elisa’s goal for her students is to learn correct techniques and designing skills to create unique jewelry that your friends and family will crave. Many of her students have now gone on to sell their designs in local shows and stores. You will also receive insider’s tips to the jewelry trade in her classes including how/where to buy beads and supplies at the best prices.

Sylvester, Kathleen | Kathleen has a B.A. in Fine Arts from Bridgewater State College. She is MA certified in secondary visual arts and owns Sedona East Studios in South Dennis.

Taylor, Gilbert | Gilbert is the IEME Founder. He began his EMS career in 1985 and has advanced from the EMT-Ambulance level trough to an EMT-Intermediate and is currently a Massachusetts and National Registered Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic. Gilbert has worked in a variety of EMS environments over the years, and is currently still serving as a dual role/crossed trained Fire Fighter/Paramedic. Gilbert also works as a Fire Investigator. Gilbert has many instructor credentials from various organizations, which includes but not limited too the Massachusetts Instructor/Coordinator designation, CPR/ACLS/PALS Instructor and AHA Training Center Faculty. Gilbert also holds several advanced ratings as a public safety diver and technical rescue technician. In addition to his administrative duties, Gilbert still actively teaches many IEME programs and is the IEME Technical Rescue Team Leader.

 

Taylor, Margaret| Peg is certified through AAAI-ISMA in Primary group aerobics, Senior exercise, personal training. She is licensed in Zumba, Zumba Gold.

Torrey, Dorothy| Dorothy Torrey has been a avid student of health for 30 years. As an Acid/Alkaline Health Coach, she educates people about the far-reaching benefits of an alkaline lifestyle. She inspires us to make wise choices about their foods and drinking water. Her philosophy is based on eating a fresh, plant-based diet, complemented by right thinking and non-invasive therapies that are essential elements on the path to vibrant health. By understanding the root causes of illness and dis-ease Dorothy has reversed her diagnoses without drugs or treatment. Because of her experience and her unending search for truth, she has become an invaluable resource to others who desire more than that which traditional medicine offers. Dorothy holds a Master’s degree, is a Hippocrates Life Force Educator, and a Certified Wellness Cuisine Coach. She was trained by Dr. Eric Pearl as a Reconnective Healing Practitioner. And, she was recently appointed by Dr.Tel-Oren as his Cape Cod Ecopolitan Health Coordinator.

 

Trudeau, George | George is a computer professional and started practicing yoga in 2005 to help his back pain. He recently graduated from Kind Yoga School and is a certified yoga teacher and registered with Yoga Alliance. He is also CPR/AED certified."

 

Tucker Brown , Sherry | Sherry, M.Ed, Principal of The Tucker Brown Group, has over twenty-five years of work experience in both the for-profit and the nonprofit arena as a senior manager. Her positions have varied from that of a Consultant for Time-Warner, Inc. to being a Principal Consultant bringing together businesses for the purpose of developing a town, inclusive of a full infrastructure, in Liberia, West Africa..Sherry and her son Malik have a weekly radio show in Boston called The Grapevine that is a part of a radio show called The Cornerstone, where they report on events in and around Boston.
